How SlideSync uses cookies and similar technologies.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how you interact with the platform. SlideSync uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage) to provide a secure, functional experience.
2. Essential Cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary for SlideSync to function and cannot be disabled. They include:
- Authentication cookies — used to keep you signed in and verify your identity across sessions.
- Session cookies — used to maintain your active session state while you use the platform.
- Security cookies — used to detect and prevent fraudulent activity and protect against cross-site request forgery.
3. Analytics Cookies
SlideSync uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymized usage data. These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the platform so we can improve performance and user experience. Analytics cookies collect information such as:
- Pages visited and time spent on each page.
- Navigation paths and feature interactions.
- Device type, browser, and general geographic region.
GA4 data is processed in aggregate and is not used to personally identify individual users.
4. Cookies We Use
Below is a summary of the primary cookies set by SlideSync and our service providers:
- sb-access-token / sb-refresh-token — Supabase authentication tokens for session management. Expire when the session ends or the token is refreshed.
- _ga / _ga_* — Google Analytics cookies used to distinguish unique users and track sessions. Expire after 2 years and 24 hours respectively.
- __stripe_mid / __stripe_sid — Stripe cookies used for fraud prevention during payment processing. Expire after 1 year and 30 minutes respectively.
5. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on SlideSync are set by third-party services that we integrate with. These services operate under their own cookie and privacy policies. Third-party providers include:
- Google — for analytics (GA4) and authentication (OAuth).
- Stripe — for secure payment processing and fraud detection.
- Vercel — for application hosting and performance optimization.
SlideSync does not use advertising cookies or trackers. We do not serve targeted ads, participate in ad networks, or allow third parties to place advertising cookies on our platform.
6. Managing Your Cookies
You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or remove cookies, though doing so may affect the functionality of SlideSync. Common options include:
- Clearing all cookies and site data from your browser's privacy settings.
- Blocking third-party cookies while allowing first-party cookies.
- Using your browser's incognito or private browsing mode to prevent cookies from persisting.
Please note that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from signing in or using core features of the platform. If you have questions about our use of cookies, contact us at privacy@slidesync.ai.
